Amer Sports brings together internationally recognized sporting goods brands, including Salomon, Wilson, Atomic, Mavic, Suunto and Precor. When the company decided to create a single, global distribution center for its footwear and apparel business, it looked to XPO Logistics to enhance supply chain performance, improve service levels and meet the needs of its distribution channels.

Solution

By transitioning to one, modern distribution center for its logistics, Amer Sports set the stage for further international expansion. XPO provided a state-of-the-art, scalable real estate solution with the capacity to accommodate our customer’s future growth. We designed a fully-automated logistics process, from reception of goods to shipment, with the reliability to target zero-default order preparation. This innovative solution has the capacity to absorb large volumes and adapt to seasonal peaks. Each parcel is photographed before shipment, and cutting-edge track and trace capabilities are provided by our technology. For omni-channel strategies, we have the flexibility to provide many different value-added services, such as manual order personalisation for e-commerce and custom labeling.

Results

With a tailored logistics solution designed, implemented and managed by XPO, Amer Sports has been able to realize significant savings in time and costs. Our strategically located distribution hub serves Amer Sports distributors worldwide. This successful collaboration between our two companies allows Amer Sports to focus on its core business and customers, while XPO prepares an average of 60,000 units a day for Amer Sports and ships up to 12 million items a year.
